The Varsity baseball team bounced back after two losses to Brillion the previous week as they defeated Sheboygan Falls 9-0 on Wednesday and 13-12 on Thursday.

Wednesday 4/29 Two Rivers 9 Sheboygan Falls 0

Seniors Kole Klein and Noah Shillcox propelled the Raiders to victory on Wednesday. Shillcox earned his second victory of the season, pitching 6 innings, allowing 2 hits and 4 walks, and striking out 11 Falcon batters. After Shillcox reached the maximum allocated pitches, sophomore Brayden Loucks closed the door in the 7th. Loucks allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 batter in 19 pitches. The Raiders, despite 9 strikeouts, had 9 walks and 10 hits. Klein went 3-4 with 4 RBI’s. 7 Raiders each had 1 hit.

Thursday 4/30 Two Rivers 13 Sheboygan Falls 12

After blanking the Falcons on Wednesday, Sheboygan Falls put up 12 runs, but it wasn’t enough as the Raiders battled late and scored all 13 runs in the 2nd half of the ball game. After being down 3-0 through 3 innings, the Raiders put up 4 runs, taking a 4-3 lead in the top of the 4th. The Raiders capitalized on a leadoff walk followed by 4 straight singles. After an offensive counter by Sheboygan Falls in the bottom half of the 4th inning, the Falcons reclaimed the lead 10-4. Ethan Schramm took the mound in the 4th inning and finished the game, only allowing 2 runs, on 4 walks and striking out 2. This was Schramm’s 1st outing of the year helped earn him the victory.

In the top of the 5th inning, the Raiders capitalized on 5 walks, 2 reached on errors, 1 fielder’s choice, and a single by Klein to tie the game 10-10 in the 5th. The Raiders and Falcons remained stagnant until the 7th, when the Raiders took the lead 13-10. Klein hit a single that scored Shillcox, and Senior Odin Clem hit a single to score Loucks and Klein. The Falcons put pressure in the bottom half of the 7th with 3 singles and a walk, which shrunk the lead 13-12 with the game-tying run at first. The last batter of the game Schramm, made the Falls batter pop out to the Senior Catcher Chase Rohrer.

The Raiders had 8 walks and 12 hits. Seniors Klein and Clem both had 3 hits and 3 RBI’s on the evening. Shillcox put up 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, 4 more Raiders put up 1 hit, where Schramm had 2 RBI’s.

The Raiders JV plays Sheboygan Falls @ home on Friday 5/1 and the Varsity team plays @ Freedom on Saturday 5/2.
